Lampile electrometrice (electrometric valves)

Sunt tuburi electronice speciale utilizate la masurarea curentilor extrem de mici, de ordinul pA sau chiar fA (10 la puterea -15 A). In general sunt lampi cu catodul incalzit direct (filament), care merg la tensiune de alimentare scazuta (de ordinul voltilor), astfel incat sa nu se ionizeze gazele reziduale din interior si sa creasca curentul grilei de comanda. Curentul grilei de comanda (G1) este minim la o anumita valoare a tensiunii de negativare (de regula sub 1V). La unele tuburi electrometrice pe G1 se aplica tensiune pozitiva (de ordinul voltilor), are rol de accelerarare a electronilor emisi de catod, respectiv comanda se face cu G2.

Tuburile electrometrice sunt practic insensibile la supratensiunile (pe grila de comanda) generate de sarcinile electrostatice. Este principalul lor avantaj.
In prezent se utilizeaza rar pentru ca rolul lor a fost preluat de tranzistoarele cu efect de camp (in special de MOSFET-uri), care din nefericire se distrug usor. Daca li se protejeaza poarta cu diode picoamperice, creste curentul la intrare cu cel putin trei ordine de marime.
